Joining Forces with the Red Cross

The Electrolux Food Foundation is partnering with the Red Cross, the world’s largest humanitarian network.

The foundation has chosen to donate to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Emergency Fund, which is directed towards immediate response operations where food is desperately needed.

”We chose to partner with the Red Cross and Red Crescent because they are globally renowned, have a passion for sustainability and they have a long history of supporting people in need. We are very proud of this partnership.”
— Malin Ekefalk, Director Social Responsibility & Community Investment
”Today in the world we have over 100 million people suffering the humanitarian consequences of climate change. Extreme climatic events and crises continue to drive hunger in many parts of the world with undernourished people rising to 822 million. We are very happy to have the Electrolux Food Foundation join forces with us in this campaign and more in the future, to make a difference in the world for the most vulnerable people.”
— Giomar Nilsson, Corporate & Foundation Partnerships Manager, Swedish Red Cross

Electrolux employees globally will have the opportunity to get involved too, invited to donate to the fund through a special platform. The first instance will be on Red Cross Day on 8 May.

This is the third global program established by the Electrolux Food Foundation following the launch of Food Heroes and Like a Chef.

A Decade of Action

It’s a critical time for our planet. You only have to look at the news to see how climate change is affecting our planet, with the Australian bushfires being the latest stark reminder.

Let´s Close the Green Gap

Closing the 'green gap'. 52% of people consider themselves to be climate conscious, yet many of us don’t live as sustainably as we’d like. Electrolux wants to empower consumers to close the green gap between how they want to live and how they are living.
